As a result, the usual discussion of the dynamics between technology, economy, cultural forms, creativity and professional careers have been transformed, challenging the established poles of political economy and cultural studies. Despite this, there is a contemporary tendency within ‘production studies’ that tends to ignore media history. This article seeks to adopt the attitude of media production studies (by using the theoretical frameworks of Cottle, Bourdieu and Berne) to trace the history of one of Wales’ foremost production companies, Teliesyn.
